The phenomenon of “fat shaming” (in particular with its aspect the especially harsh criticism corpulence in young adult women) seems nearly non-existent ancient Classical literature. extant satirical depictions fatness are uncommon and aimed, almost exclusively, at overweight men. author paper analyses this description, background moral philosophy, as well comments on plumpness gluttony context assessments female physical beauty. He also attempts to explain how some ideas may have evolved attitudes today, showing examples from 19th-century prose a step reshaping ideas. Eventually, makes an attempt offer better understanding contemporary phenomenon, which only elements be seen rooted Antiquity.
